Coaches

Coaching a softball team is a rewarding experience that makes an excellent impact on both our BGFSA players and the community.  BGFSA coaches are expected to follow the mission and objectives of our program, and are the key drivers in creating an enjoyable and safe sporting experience while athletes advance their skills, sportsmanship, and fair play.

Coaching Opportunities

Day League Coaches: We are currently seeking a minimum of 2 coaches for both our 5/6-year-old and 7/8-year-old Day Leagues. Practices are two days a week and times are posted on the individual league pages. All practices are held at the Bemidji Softball Complex.

Night League (ages 8-11): Typically we have 4-5 night league teams, with 10 girls per team. We are seeking a minimum of 2 coaches for each team.  Practices are Monday evenings with games played on Tuesdays. Please see the Night League page for additional details regarding the schedule.

Note: The coaches will report to our Day & Night League Coordinator, Sarah Predovich. Background checks will be run on all coaches, prior to the first practice.

Coaching Resources

There are many online resources available, but here are a few that may spark ideas for your practice plans. If you find other resources worth sharing, please email them to blazebemidji@gmail.com. We'll review it and add it to the website. If you have questions or would like to bounce ideas off of another coach, please don't hesitate to reach out to other coaches or contact the Day & Night League Director. Teamwork makes the dreamwork!
